This lighting concept is exclusive: The assortment aisles gain with GRADO TWIN in a new arrangement above the shelves. The product variety on the fish counters is presented in a particularly appetising manner thanks to customised lighting colours controllable via LIVELINK. And in the check-out area, MUCH MOON as a pulsating luminaire sky causes a stir - it can be handled easily and autonomously with LEDIQ BLE.
Edeka Schmidt’s business card: The generously dimensioned fruit and vegetable area conveys abundance and freshness. The feeling is supported by the accentuated lighting with CANILO. The noble track-mounted spotlights in black are genuine power packages. They have been fitted with the BRILLIANT FOOD light colour. Thanks to the authentic colour rendition at 2700 kelvins and CRI 95, the customer experiences the range from apples to yams with maximum sensuousness.
Insights into the assortment aisles. The ceiling height of 4.50 m posed a challenge. The solution for the best possible illumination was the unusual arrangement of the GRADO TWIN spotlights. Not centrally above the aisle, but directly over the shelving. The flexible double spotlights are, in addition, orientated in such a way that the light falls diagonally onto the goods in an optimum manner. With light colour EFFICIENT WHITE, the assortment is provided with extremely clear illumination with an appealing colour brilliance and depth of field as well as an outstanding red-white contrast.
Like an exemplary colour theory of retail lighting: The fresh food counters of the Bonndorf supermarket are eye-catchers with their special light colours. The intense red in the case of meat and sausage products is obtained through a mixture of the two special light colours BRILLIANT COLOUR and MEAT. At the other counters, too, the colour mix makes the experience. The freshly caught look in the case of fish and an appetite for the cheese paradise are even enhanced by the dynamic lighting control via LIVELINK - and all that with lighting that has been shown to be gentle on the goods. A further boost to the atmosphere is given by the suspended luminaire LIMBA in a rusty look.
You have never seen a food check-out area like this one. The MUCH MOON installation consisting of 92 luminaires sets an eye-catching final chord to conclude shopping! And not only that. With the smart and wireless control solution LEDIQ BLE, the luminaires can be individually selected and changed as regards colour and intensity. At Edeka Schmidt, through the lighting scenario in the endless loop a pulsating play of light arises that in its liveliness makes the atmosphere of this supermarket unique.

You opened your supermarket in the middle of the Corona crisis - your balance?
Despite this challenge we are very satisfied with the turnover but also with the average receipt. A high average receipt always confirms to us that the customer stays longer in the supermarket and is satisfied. Our customers tell us that they feel really good here and like to come here to shop.
The illumination of the fresh food counters - what was particularly important for you here?
For us it was an important aspect of the lighting design that the goods remain fresh longer, that we thus have fewer markdowns and the greying has markedly decreased.
Lighting installation MUCH MOON for the checkout area - how did the decision come about?
We wanted to have something quite special for the check-out area, something that is in keeping with our supermarket and the atmosphere. We searched for a long time. And then, at the EuroShop 2020, we discovered the MUCHMOON on the Oktalite stand - and then also decided in favour of it. It fits in very well and we are really happy about it.
